Welcome to the Ocean Sciences Media Center
Online press registration for the Ocean Sciences Meeting is now open and will remain open throughout the Fall Meeting. We encourage all press registrants to register online. Members of the press can also register onsite in the main registration area in Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Level One, outside of Hall B. For press registration eligibility requirements, please visit the Press Registration Eligibility Requirements page. More information about badge pickup and onsite registration is available here.
Press registrants receive, at no charge, a badge that provides access to all scientific sessions, the press room, and the press conference room. Some events and activities, including but not limited to invitation-only events and communications workshops, are not open to press badge holders.
NOTE: Audio recording, photography, and video recording are not allowed in scientific sessions or in poster halls.
The Ocean Sciences press office provides a Press Room where reporters, press officers, bloggers, and others can work and mingle. In the Press Room—and in an online Virtual Press Room —the press office will make available copies of press releases about developments in Earth and space sciences and other news presented at the meeting.
The Press Room is located in room 214 of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The Press Room opens daily at 7:30 a.m. Monday, February 22 through Friday, February 26. The room closes daily at 6:00 p.m. except for Friday, February 26, when it will close at 2:00 p.m. More information about the press room and virtual press room is available here.
During the meeting, registered members of the press will be able to reserve a quiet room to conduct interviews. The quiet room is located on the first level of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center near the ticket office. Please sign up to reserve these rooms at the front desk of the press room (room 214). Reservations are given in 30-minute increments for up to one hour at a time, and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
