Current role in the field of ocean sciences: Faculty

Area(s) of expertise within ocean sciences: I have been an academic (faculty member) for over 20 years with my research activities being in environmental fluid dynamics, with a special interest in coastal processes. Recently, I am working more in the area of multidisciplinary marine science and am supervising student projects on whale, shark and crab responses to physical oceanography forcing.

Interest in becoming a mentor: Educating our students, at any level, is an important activity and is a highly valued one. I strongly believe that all academics (faculty) should be honoured to undertake a mentoring role – I certainly am as I would like to see our young scientists and engineers get the best start possible in their chosen career.
