Attendees from Developing Countries

View your country of residence to determine if you are eligible for discounted registration. Attendees must currently reside in the developing countries in order to be eligible to receive the developing country registration rate*.

Guest Policy

By 3 January, registered attendees may purchase guest passes at $80 USD each.  From 4 January through 10 February, guest passes are $105 USD. After 10 February, guest passes are $130 USD.  A guest is a spouse, friend, or adult child (18 years old and older) who is not working in a marine sciences-related occupation or field.  A colleague or associate working in a related marine sciences field or studying marine sciences in school may not be registered and attend as a guest.  Registered guests may not attend the scientific sessions; however, they may visit the Exhibit Hall, attend the Opening Reception, and all keynote lectures.  Guests may purchase tickets to social events at the advertised rates.

Cancellation Policy

Written notification must be emailed to Registrations cancellations received by 17 January 2018 will receive a complete refund. Cancellations received between 18-24 January 2018 will have a $50 processing fee deducted from their refund. No refunds will be issued for cancelled registrations or ticketed events after 24 January 2018. Refund exception requests must be requested in writing by 16 March 2018, refunds requested after this are ineligible for refund but may request credit for the 2020 Ocean Sciences Meeting.

Substitution Policy (New for 2018)

Substitutions are allowed at any time, but must be requested in writing by the original registrant and may be emailed to Partial substitutions are not allowed. Registrants must transfer their entire registration to a new person, not just a portion. Member rates and promotional rates are not transferable from the original registrant to the substitute. No refunds will be issued for cancelled registrations or ticketed events after 24 January 2018.

AGU, ASLO and TOS are committed to protecting your privacy, and we honor your right to make choices about the information you share with us. We request information from those who engage with the Ocean Sciences Meeting to complete business processes such as meeting registration, to improve the communication and sharing of science, to improve programs and websites, and to serve the interests of members, authors, meeting attendees, and others by providing them with relevant information.

AGU, ASLO and TOS do not sell meeting attendee or member contact information. It has been brought to our attention that some individuals and organizations have been contacted with offers of lists for purchase. These offers are not affiliated with AGU, ASLO or TOS in any way, and are unauthorized. We thank our Exhibitors for reporting this issue to us.
