Area(s) of expertise within ocean sciences: Biogeochemical cycles of nutrients, oxygen and impact of eutrophication in aquatic systems. The biogeochemical cycle of Si in terrestrial ecosystems and its linkage with aquatic ecosystems. Eutrophication of aquatic systems and the use of paleoecological techniques to assess historical changes in productivity. Use of monitoring data to increase our understanding of aquatic ecosystems. Management of aquatic ecosystems.
Interest in becoming a mentor: One of my biggest thrills is mentoring and helping people to succeed. I especially like the early career stage (Post-docs and PhD students).
